Rep. Abet Garcia of the 2nd Congressional District of the province, joined the global community in celebrating the International Day of Education, declared by the United Nation’s General Assembly to reiterate the role of education in peace and progress.
This year’s celebration focused on the theme; ” A1 and Education, Preserving Human Agency in the World of Automation” highlights the importance of education in today’s changing world.
It is noteworthy that Cong. Abet and Gov. Joet Garcia have prioritized education in their programs, as evidenced in the continuation of the scholarship program, Iskolar ng Bataan, started by their father (former Gov. Tet Garcia) whose desire was to have at least one college graduate in every Bataeño family.
Just recently, Gov. Joet distributed MacBook laptops to all elementary and high school teachers, principals and other officials in the educational system with the end purpose of uplifting the standards and quality of education in the province. The Provincial Government reaffirms its commitment to providing quality education to the people, ensuring equal opportunities to all to learn and develop their skills in their chosen careers.
Cong. Abet said that, as we celebrate this important occasion, we are reminded that education as part of our vision, is a fundamental right and key driver in the sustainable development of our province.
The Garcias are grateful to the DepEd officials, local officials, teachers and all stakeholders for their untiring support and cooperation in promoting education and making it accessible to all.
